Laura Deriemaeker was born and raised in a small village in Belgium. As a young girl, she joined a theater group, where she discovered her passion for stories. In her early twenties Laura studied Dutch and English literature at Ghent University. She developed an interest in film and television and went on to study in Brussels where she received her Master’s in »Audiovisual Arts: Writing« from RITCS University. After graduating, Laura completed an internship in the writers’ room for a Belgian daily drama show and started working as a researcher for non-fictional television.
