Lucas Gesser lived his whole life in the capital of Brazil, Brasilia, a city famed for its beautiful modernist architecture and merciless dry seasons. Storytelling was his greatest passion from a young age, which drove him to join the undergraduate audiovisual program at the University of Brasilia, in 2011. During his undergraduate years, he worked different functions on countless short films, always trying to grasp different parts that make a good story stick. It was there also that he wrote his first screenplays, directed his first projects, and met the friends with whom he would found the production company Levante Filmes in 2016. With Levante Filmes he has, since then, worked in short and feature films developed projects for serialized content and traveled thousands of miles shooting documentaries. His first short film, »Noroeste«, has played in many film festivals throughout Brazil and other countries.
